Parks and Rec Director reports to Council

Chuck Eddington reported to the city council that the after-school program has 82 students enrolled. “We opened our program up to Valley Springs School this year, and they are bringing students and dropping them off each day. We also offered the program to Bergman, and they think they will participate in the next school year.”

The school basketball leagues start this weekend, and nine different schools are participating. This will take place for seven weeks, with two tournaments at the end.

Flag football and volleyball signups end this weekend.

The Fall Soccer league begins Monday and will continue until October.

The city pool will close on Labor Day. The splash pad will stay open until the weather starts to cool off.
