Gwen Hoffmann City Council woman

Gwen Hoffmann was recently elected to the 2025 City Council and is excited about a new way to serve her community.

“I felt like my previous community experience with the Chamber, the Harrison Housing Authority, and my job at Bank of 1889 led me to serve this way.”

Gwen served on the Harrison Board of Education and the Harrison Regional Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors for many years. She directly impacted the philosophy of businesses and people working together to make Harrison the best it can be during a campaign with the Chamber.

Gwen was born in Harrison to family from the Compton and Rally Hill areas. “My dad got a job through DECA while in high school with the Harness Shoe Stores. He eventually moved the family to Mountain Home when the Harness family wanted to expand the business.” Gwen graduated from Mountain Home High School in 1987.

Gwen and her husband Scott met at church and have been married for almost 37 years. They had their first meeting when she was three, and he was 10. It took a while, but he finally noticed when she grew up.

Gwen began working as a teller for the Bank of 1889 14 years ago. She currently works in marketing and Human Resources.

She loves this area for several reasons: “I love my family history of this region and the friends my parents grew up around, who are also my friends now. I enjoy the Buffalo National River as well as the nature and geography of the Ozarks.

“I love the people of the Ozarks, too. We have the most generous community. If someone has a need, it is met,” she said.

The Hoffmanns have two grown children. Ruby Grace works in a dental office in Fayetteville, and Garrett owns Hoffmann Motor Sports here in Harrison.
