The citizens of Harrison voted for Charlie Pierce to fill Ward 3 Position 1 on the City Council. Charlie is a Valley Springs graduate from 1996.
Charlie is a funeral director at Coffman Funeral Home in Harrison and Jasper. “I’ve worked for Coffman’s off and on for about 15 years. I started working for my friend who owned Coffman Monument Company and then eventually made my way to the funeral home side of things in 2011. I earned my funeral director's license in 2015.”
He likes to think of himself as a people person and genuinely enjoys meeting and visiting with the people of Harrison.
Charlie’s friends suggested he run for the city council seat. “They thought I would serve the citizens of Harrison well in this position. The more I thought about it, the more excited I became about the opportunity.”
Charlie’s younger brother, John, lives in New Jersey with his family. He enjoys visiting with them, especially his two nieces, Milly and Pepper. They think Uncle Charlie is the best! Charlie’s dad, Al, worked many years at Pepsi. His mom, Karon, retired from the First Christian Church and enjoys living in the Valley Springs/Everton area.
Family is very important to him. Charlie’s stepson, Scout Teague, graduated from Harrison High School in 2021.
Charlie enjoys spending time outdoors when the weather is nice, especially fishing, golfing, and grilling burgers and steaks. He also enjoys trivia and bowling nights.
He believes Harrison is a very special place. “This community likes to help those in need, and we look out for our neighbors. Harrison is a growing community but with a small-town vibe.”
