Creekside Music Venue is a step closer to reality. On Thursday night, March 13, the City Council approved Resolution No.1322 to construct a concrete stage.
L.E. Davis Construction, LLC submitted the low bid for $92,800. Additional bids were accepted from Tom Davenport Concrete Construction at $147,895 and Butch May Contracting, Inc. at $198,985.
Resolution No. 1323 was also approved by the Council, authorizing the mayor to enter into an agreement with Advance Fab and MFG for the fabrication and erection of the steel structure at the Creekside Music Venue.
The City’s COO/Engineer, Wade Phillips, asked the council for a bid waiver on this project. Existing circumstances make competitive bidding neither practical nor feasible, and the competitive bidding requirement should be waived.
Advance Fab and MFG agreed to do the project for $98,000. This company also constructed the building housing the two new courts at Creekside.
It’s possible the concrete work can start within a week.
